Role Overview :
This position involves a multifaceted role. You'll work closely engineer solutions, conduct proof-of-concept work, offer recommendations, and execute on decisions. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll design and manage cloud-based business solutions to streamline and boost our clients' service delivery on Microsoft Azure.
Engagement Details :
- Role Type : Contractor (staff augmentation) Resource via MiSAM Program (Knowledge Services)
- Duration : Standard 1-year engagement, amounting to 1984 hours, with potential extensions
- Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Work Setup : Hybrid schedule with 3 remote days and 2 in-office days at the SOM DTMB office in Lansing
- Responsibilities : Support and develop Azure Cloud Services, along with deploying and updating standardized service code modules
- Skill Set : Required 3-5 years of experience in diverse supporting services, including training State of Michigan FTEs in new service offerings
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer
- Competency in designing and developing dynamic cloud solutions
- Infrastructure guidance for development teams and cloud architecting
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructures, showcasing performance and cost management skills
- Security expertise and experience with servers, infrastructure, platform sizing, and cost reduction
- Bonus : Azure - MCSE : Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certification and chaos engineering experience
- Architect and deliver secure cloud solutions on Azure
- Expertise in Linux OS and virtual network management
- Guide development teams and interpret complex technologies
- Proficiency in cloud formation, automation, and scripting
- DevOps, DevSecOps, or site reliability engineering equivalent experience
- Offer strategic architectural support and act as a Subject Matter Expert for Michigan's Cloud Strategy
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical business functions
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships across teams
- Consult with product specialists, independent organizations, and peers to ensure technology compliance
- Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture for technology validation and suggest solutions
- Advocate for emerging cybersecurity best practices and develop strategic initiatives
- Lead the creation of technical documents and contribute to project plans
- Integrate cloud services with on-premises technology from leading providers
