Look no further! Our esteemed client, a leader in automotive innovation, is seeking a skilled Electrical Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge projects!
What you'll be doing…
- Manage daily support requests to resolve issues using Red X Tools for root cause analysis.
- Develop quick containment strategies and long-term solutions for various challenges.
- Collaborate with the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff to provide clear technical guidance on complex problems.
- Support the launch of new products within the plant.
- Handle Supplier Quality issues using the SPPS process to document and resolve.
- Scope of Responsibilities:
- Develop quality standards and procedures for the plant.
- Manage multiple projects with significant complexity and scope.
- Generate innovative technical solutions using 7 Diamonds Process, Red X, and other tools as needed.
- Assist in defect prevention and recommend process adjustments.
- Engage with Launch Team on new vehicle builds and support the transition of commodities as launch advances.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure robust countermeasures for SPPS issues.
- Work with suppliers and engineering to determine inspection standards for parts and subassemblies.
- Share lessons learned to prevent recurring design or build deficiencies.
- Focus on non-conforming parts for proper initial disposition and root cause follow-up.
- Coordinate periodic system and process audits at the plant and supplier facilities.
- Oversee quality assessment of new vehicles alongside engineering and production.
- Coordinate implementation of engineering changes.
- Evaluate employee suggestions and provide technical reports to management.
- Work off-shifts as needed.
- Be open to occasional domestic and global travel.
The right person has…
- A High School diploma, with the ideal candidate holding an Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of achieving results while balancing technical and business needs.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills for unusual and complex issues.
- Proficiency in generating technical solutions using 7 Diamonds, Red X, DFMEA Tools, and others.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Independent judgement in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal supervision.
- A thorough understanding of lean concepts and plant production processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective presentations and reports.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical systems in wiring or electronic module communication.
- Familiarity with the 7-diamond process.
- Red X Journeyman Certification.
- Knowledgeable in Engineering Work Order (EWO) and Parts Release.
- Familiarity with reading drawings and using various technical systems.
- Experience with supplier audits and PPAP requirements.
- Experience as a Production Group Leader.
- Certified Quality Engineer credentials.

- Specific Responsibilities of this Position:
- Address module issues at the end of line.
- Manage supplier quality issues and issue SPPS and PRTS.
- Maintain module supplier quality sheet.
- Collaborate with DVT coordinator on software issues.
- Address all end-of-line module and software failures.
- Enter defect losses into GSIP.
Preferred Work Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 4 days, 10 hours per day (6am-4:30pm).
- Attendance at meetings beyond the shift is required; compensation provided.
- Training tailored to experience; approximately 4-6 weeks learning client's systems.
- Adherence to attendance policy is strictly enforced; no call no show could result in immediate termination.
