IBM Mainframe Operator
IBM Mainframe Operator is responsible for monitoring the Enterprise Scheduler (Automate),
IBM Mid-Range AS400, Network Servers (SCOM), and Data Center infrastructure. The
Computer Operator completes daily processing logs and checklists and operates and
maintains peripheral equipment as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control the operation of the mainframe hardware and software. Start and
the system programming and production control staff to ensure the health and normal
operation of the systems.
- Responsible for Monitoring the Enterprise Scheduler (Automate Scheduler) for nightly
- Responsible for Monitoring the IBM® Mid-Range Mainframe for outstanding messages
including storage (DASD) issues.
- Monitor IPL of the AS400 and associated Jobs and quiesce the Job Queues.
- Responsible for the Monitoring of all Network Servers and the application of patches or
- Responsible for the Processing of Missed Sales for any store.
- Verify all Store uploads and downloads are completed successfully, retry as required,
- Works with users on any IT issue and enables Support Accounts.
- Applies Windows updates, Server Patches, Firmware updates, POS updates, and Pin Pad
- Escalates issues as directed in documentation; follow instructions supplied by the team
member.
- Monitors Data Center Infrastructure and applications adhering to standard operating
- Performing monthly Generator tests.
- s tickets on reported issues from the users.
- Publishes morning reports reflecting the completion times of critical systems.
- Completes daily processing logs and checklists
- Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or High School diploma ( 15 years Experience).
- Working knowledge of IBM OS/400 (later known as i5/OS and IBM i), Windows,
- Knowledge of ticketing systems.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of Enterprise Schedulers.
- General understanding of network fundamentals.
- Average technical aptitude for learning and applying new technologies and processes
- Excellent telephone/customer service skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to prioritize assignments based on urgency independently.
- Above average organization skills, quality, and accuracy in all functions.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with all

Salary : $88,500 - $112,000
