Job Title: Armed Security Officer – Part Time
Compensation: $25.00-$27.00/Hour
Hours: Varies

Basic Function
As an Armed Security Officer, your primary duty will be to deter and defuse incidents that may result in vandalism, destruction of property, or felony burglary. You will be required to carry less than lethal options, such as OC Spray and/or Taser, and be versed in the escalation of force utilizing your firearm to protect lives. Armed Security Officers typically work in high crime areas and must be trained and comfortable with threats of violence, frequent trespassers, and interactions with homeless and drug users. This position may require work at various locations and times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol the property to deter criminal activity and identify any suspicious activities or individuals.
- Intervene and de-escalate situations that could potentially lead to violence or property damage.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as fires or medical emergencies.
- Deploy less than lethal defensive tools, such as OC spray or Taser, when necessary to prevent harm to people or property.
- Use your firearm to protect lives and property, only as a last resort and in accordance with company policies and state/federal law.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents and activities.
- Communicate effectively with the property management, authorities, and emergency services.
- Ensure the safety and security of the property and its occupants.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Security Guard License and Armed Guard License.
- Previous experience in armed security, military or law enforcement preferred.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Ability to assess and respond to potentially dangerous situations quickly and effectively.
- Knowledge of defensive tools, such as OC spray or Taser, and the ability to use them appropriately.
- Proficient in the use of firearms and knowledgeable of state and federal laws regarding the use of deadly force.
- Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Good judgment and the ability to handle sensitive situations in a professional manner.
- Comfortable with threats of violence, frequent trespassers, and interactions with homeless and drug users.
Physical Demands:
The Armed Security Officer position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to climb stairs and ladders. The Armed Security Officer must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate security equipment such as radios and surveillance cameras.
Working Conditions:
The Armed Security Officer position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be subject to adverse weather conditions. The Armed Security Officer may also be required to work in areas with high noise levels or low lighting.
