Job Description

We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Stanwood MI location. The Role will report to the Factory Manager . The Operations Manager will play a critical role in leading teams for our 24 / 7, 7 days a week bottling plant. This is an exempt position with direct reports.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team in a large bottling and distribution facility
  • Passionate about leadership development - Coach, mentor and develop leaders and assess and create plans to grow the skills and competencies of employees to meet current and future business requirements
  • Responsible for making the facility the best place to work, not just the highest paying place to work.
  • Responsible for developing and protecting our culture of Attitude, Attendance, Teamwork, Respect and Commitment.
  • Partner cross functionally with Planning, Quality, Maintenance and the Warehouse to maximize efficiencies and output of high-quality product in a safe manner
  • Lead the execution of change and the pursuit of excellence in manufacturing
  • Instill the value of safety within all associates within the manufacturing facility
  • Monitor and track planned DH (downtime) hours and partner with Quality and Maintenance to minimize DH yet maximize the strategic use of DH
  • Manage factory staffing to ensure operation at full capacity and the attainment of variable labor budgets
  • Ensure quality goals and preventative maintenance of lines
  • Ensure complete compliance to prescribed Safety, Quality and HR policies, including GMPs, Food Safety
  • Facilitate the use of continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis to improve and streamline production processes
  • Participate in projects including workforce planning, budgeting, new product launches, equipment installs or upgrades
  • Participate in audit activities and ongoing efforts to ensure compliance to internal and external standards, including FSSC

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; will accept experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5 or more years of production experience in a team leadership capacity
  • Prior experience in the consumer products industry or food and beverage with familiarity with quality and hygiene regulation preferred
  • Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma and various problem-solving methodologies
  • Solid understanding of production processes, preventative maintenance and budget management
  • Exceptional work ethic / dependability
  • Strong oral / written / interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Tactful interaction with peers, subordinates, vendors and customers
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, coach and develop individuals and teams
  • Problem solve creatively to lead team through improvements
  • Ability to remove team barriers to ensure achievement of all Key Performance Indicators
  • Proficient computer skills in business management software (SAP preferred), production monitoring systems (EIT preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point)
  • Willingness to respond to after-hour calls for critical issues and provide weekend coverage a few times / year
  • Pay Range : $92,443 - $111,978. This role is eligible for a 15% annual bonus.
