Resort General Manager

Bluff's Landing Marina & Lodge is looking for a Resort General Manager to lead the team on the accommodation, marina and events side of the business. Working alongside our F&B Director/F&B General Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to lead our growing team. The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator and problem solver - able to successfully manage staff and operational responsibilities. Applicants must be able to work to a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, and have at least 3-5 years in a hospitality leadership role, or significant experience in a Guest Services Manager position.

Responsibilities

*Oversee the daily operational functions of the hotel and resort. *Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments, with the exception of F&B. *Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards. *Lead all key property issues including customer service, accommodation, development, and accounting. *Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded. *Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management. *Deliver resort budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the property. *Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings.

Requirements

*A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to be proactive in making revenue boosting changes. *Strong attention to detail, in order to monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and make appropriate business decisions. *Maximizing room yield and hotels / resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs. *Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and inventory and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services. *Act as a final decision maker in hiring a key team members. *Coordination with team leaders for the execution of all activities and functions. *Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis. *Carry out regular team appraisals and reviews to provide feedback and ensure productivity and career progression of the team. *Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints. *Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).

Qualifications

*At least 5 years in a hotel or resort management position. *Excellent communication skills – both written and guest-facing. *Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word and hospitality software including PMS and project management systems. *A proven track record of being able to lead a team and to multitask. *Flexibility and a willingness to work beyond scheduled hours; after hours on weekends. *An ability to identify areas in need of change or improvement to offer guests an excellent hotel experience. *Understanding of and compliance with hotel policies and regulations and communicating these clearly to the staff. *Reporting on daily operations in a timely manner.
