What are the responsibilities and job description for the Healthy Bluffdale Coalition Facilitator position at Bluffdale City?
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Healthy Bluffdale Facilitator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and creating programs, classes, and special events for the residents of Bluffdale City. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful public health initiative while developing valuable skills in facilitation and community engagement. The Healthy Bluffdale Coalition is a community-informed, data-driven community group following an evidence-based prevention process called Communities that Care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This role requires an innovative, proactive individual who excels in driving positive long-term outcomes through an understanding of the community in which they serve.
Plan & facilitate community-building events that foster safe and meaningful relationships through connecting, engaging, and empowering residents.
This position will work closely with key leaders, faith-based groups, local school leadership, community volunteers, local sponsors, and other stakeholders to help develop, facilitate, and implement the goals and objectives of the Healthy Bluffdale Coalition.
Oversee the Healthy Bluffdale board meeting preparation & follow-up. Ensure goals and objectives are being met to better address root issues in the City.
Create and conduct surveys for programs to help improve Healthy Bluffdale and understand community needs
Under the direction of Bluffdale City Council, develop and manage the budget and make recommendations for events, programs, that align with Healthy Bluffdale’s objectives.
Assists in grant research, proposal writing, grant compliance, and grant reporting needed to obtain funding.
Prepare agendas for meetings and to lead discussions, participate equally, along with any other committee members, in the discussions and decisions of the committee.
As needed, make public presentations to the Bluffdale City Council on the Coalition, programs, events, budget, personnel, etc.
Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects the City’s positive image by demonstrating qualities like professionalism, integrity, effective communication, positive attitude, respectful representation of the organization in all interactions, both internal and external.
Performs related duties as necessary.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
a. MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO APPLY.
b. ABILITY TO SELF-START, LEARN NEW SKILLS, AND WORK INDEPENDENTLY.
c. ABILITY TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH EMPLOYEES, SUPERVISORS, OTHER AGENCIES, PARTICIPANTS, AND THE PUBLIC.
d. SKILLS IN PROFESSIONAL OFFICE SETTINGS, INCLUDING KNOWLEDGE OF COMMON COMPUTER SOFTWARE INCLUDING THE MICROSOFT OFFICE AND GOOGLE SUITES.
e. EXPERIENCE WITH GRANT PROPOSALS, COMPLIANCE, AND REPORTING.
f. EXCELLENT ORGANIZATIONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WITH BEING ON A COMMUNITY BOARD.
g. KNOWLEDGE OF STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND LEGAL PROCESSES ASSOCIATED WITH DUTIES DESCRIBED ABOVE WITH MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC RECORDS, PUBLIC MEETING REQUIREMENTS, AND DOCUMENTS.
h. MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE, CURRENT AUTO INSURANCE, DAILY ACCESS TO A RELIABLE VEHICLE.
i. BE ABLE TO WORK OCCASIONAL WEEKENDS AND ATTEND COMMUNITY EVENTS.
