Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists in providing excellent eye care services to our patients. You will workup patients to get them ready for the Doctor to see, train contact lens insertion and removal, and help in the office as we are able to cross train you in other areas. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements for patients, including visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry
- Assist with patient history taking and documenting medical records
- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as visual field testing and retinal imaging
- Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist with fitting and dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Perform basic front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks accurately and efficiently
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Maintain inventory of supplies and order new materials as needed
Skills:
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong sales skills to assist patients with selecting eyewear options
- Familiarity with ophthalmology terminology and procedures
- Ability to perform basic vital sign measurements accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to manage patient records effectively
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and measurements
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Experience working in this field is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
