Admissions graduate assistant
GA for Adult and Graduate Studies
Hours/Schedule: 20 hours per week; Monday – Friday; some evening and weekends hours will be required. Preferred time is 1-5 p.m. on weekdays. Not to exceed 944 hours in one year.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The graduate assistant for Adult & Graduate Studies is responsible for meeting the annual recruiting goals for all graduate level and master’s degree programs at Bluffton University. This position will act as a liaison between the admissions office and the Adult and Graduate Studies program directors. This position will also support the overall admissions office by providing undergraduate admissions chats, tours and attend group visit events as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
After a reasonable training period, the individual must be able to perform these essential responsibilities independently, without prompts from supervisor:
- Student recruitment
- Consistently meets the annual recruiting goals as established by supervisor.
- Research new ways to fill AGS prospective student funnel in collaboration with supervisor.
- Brings new recruitment strategy ideas to supervisor and implements the regional student recruitment strategy for all AGS programs, including AGS communication flow.
- Visits classes periodically to stay in contact with students and to seek prospective student referrals.
- Maintains prospective student records on Salesforce and makes follow-up contacts to assess continued interest in additional programs.
- Acts as liaison between admissions office and faculty in the AGS programs.
- Seeks frequent feedback from supervisor on implementation of the marketing and sales plans.
- Program representation
- With direction from development associate for athletics and community relations, meets personally to discuss Bluffton University AGS programs and the Corporate Partner and Education Partner program benefits to their employees and company.
- Establishes and maintains rapport with area community colleges.
- Represents Bluffton at college and business education fairs.
- Office support
- Supports the efforts of the overall admissions office by providing undergraduate admissions chats and tours, as needed.
- Attends undergraduate group visits as assigned by supervisor.
- Support undergraduate communication flow execution as assigned by supervisor.
- Customer service
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Communicates effectively with supervisor regarding daily on and off campus work schedules.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum:
- Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Some prior experience in event planning, recruiting, sales and/or marketing.
- Special Skills:
- As a frequent representative of Bluffton University to the public and corporate community, the employee must have high ethical standards and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be highly motivated with strong organizational skills, technology skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks are vital.
- Integrity and honesty in conveying program information and respect for prospective students are essential.
- Candidate must be friendly, outgoing, self-motivated, and able to delegate, and have excellent written and verbal skills.
- Candidate must be computer literate in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
- Must qualify for the Bluffton University Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education or Master of Social Work program to be considered for the position.
- Education and/or Experience:
- Preferred:
- Education and/or Experience - BA degree. 1 year of prior admissions experience or other college related work.
- Understanding of the liberal arts, private college environment within a Christian setting.
- Bluffton University graduate.
DEGREE OBTAINED:
Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education or Master of Social Work
