Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various alarm systems and related technologies. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems, including alarm systems and security devices.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting of systems.
- Conduct system design assessments to determine the best solutions for client needs.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on existing systems to ensure reliability.
- Diagnose issues with computer hardware related to low voltage systems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional service and support, including alarm system sales when applicable.
- Stay updated on industry standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), to ensure compliance in all installations.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical documentation related to low voltage systems.
- Experience with alarm system sales is a plus, enhancing customer engagement and service delivery.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it pertains to low voltage installations.
- Previous experience as a service technician in the low voltage field is preferred.
- Ability to detect issues quickly and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with computer hardware relevant to system operations is essential.
- Experience with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) is advantageous for this role.
- Basic locksmithing skills may be beneficial for certain installations or repairs.
