Position Description 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Underground Utility Project  Manager to oversee and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of  underground utility projects. The successful candidate will ensure projects are  completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and  quality.

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee all phases of underground utility construction projects, including  design, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution. 

• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and utility companies  to ensure all project specifications are met. 

• Lead a team of site supervisors, foremen, and workers to execute the  project plan. 

• Monitor project progress, track costs, and adjust resources as needed to  maintain project timelines and budgets. 

• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, local, state, and federal  regulations. 

• Conduct regular site visits to inspect project safety, quality, and adherence  to schedules. 

• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to provide project  updates and address any concerns. 

• Resolve any issues that arise, including change orders, delays, or  unforeseen project challenges. 

• Manage project documentation, including permits, contracts, and change  orders.

Qualifications


Position Requirements 

• Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and fostering a  culture where safety and well-being are the top priorities for all employees.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or  related field experience.  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction or  project management. 

• Strong knowledge of underground utility systems (e.g., water, sewer, gas,  electric) and construction processes. 

• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project,  Primavera) and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam).

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and  specifications. 

• Proven track record of managing projects on time and within budget.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP)  certification. 

• OSHA 30-hour certification. 

• Experience working with municipal and utility companies. 

• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to underground utility work.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed both in an office setting and on project sites.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
