Bright Lights USA Inc. dba BLUSA Defense Manufacturing (blusadefense.com) is a small business manufacturer of mechanical and electro-mechanical components for the defense industry based in Mt. Laurel, NJ. We are an approved manufacturer for the US Government. We are ITAR registered / EAR & DFARS compliant. Our quality management system is certified to AS 9100 : 2016 and ISO 9001 : 2015. Our facility has a complete machine shop with CNC Milling, CNC Turning, Wire EDM and 3D printing. We offer a full range of manufacturing options from small to large quantities, and from the simple to complex all at reasonable prices. We can even perform reverse engineering for hard-to-find items.
Position Summary :
The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and subassemblies for defense-related products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Assemble complex mechanical components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Utilize hand and power tools to fit, align, and secure parts.
Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure conformance with quality standards.
Identify and report any assembly issues or discrepancies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
Previous experience in mechanical assembly, preferably within the defense or aerospace industry.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in mechanical assembly.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
Use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
