What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative/Accounting Clerk position at Blythe Construction Inc?
General Description - The Administrative/Accounting Clerk for the Charlotte Asphalt Operations office will ensure that subcontract, trucking, and various miscellaneous invoices associated with the Charlotte Asphalt Operations are processed in a timely manner and perform various other administrative duties as assigned.
Key Duties
- Process all invoices associated with Charlotte Asphalt Operations division.
- Complete all new employee onboarding including drug tests, uniforms, and new employee safety training.
- Create driver files for all CDL drivers.
- Distribute and sort daily paperwork turned in by Foremen and Superintendents.
- Set up water use for projects and maintain water permits.
- Track items purchased for field personnel and charge out to the correct jobs on a monthly spreadsheet to submit to corporate.
- Provide back up for front desk as needed and assist dispatcher with trucking payroll when out of the office.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.
Qualification Requirements

- Education and Experience. This position can be an entry-level job.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with Managers and fellow employees.
- Excellent computer skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- SAP experience is preferred but not required.
- 2 years of accounting/administrative experience is preferred.
- Ability to work some overtime as needed.
- Ability to analyze information.
- Ability to manage large volumes of work.
- Understands deadlines.
- Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Accounts Payable Clerk to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
- Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
- Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that an Administrative/Accounting Clerk encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Work is performed predominately indoors.
