General Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator - Asphalt is responsible for operating equipment in a safe and effective manner on jobsites. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to : front-end loaders, paving machines, rollers, broom tractor, milling machine. Other duties may be assigned based on specific job needs.
Key Duties
- Ability to enter and exit heavy machinery while maintaining three points of contact, awareness of surroundings, and multi-limb coordination
- Knowledge and appreciation of heavy equipment safety and operation
- Daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe operation
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow Foremen's instructions to ensure schedules are met
- Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
- Ability to follow traffic control instructions
- Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working conditions
