Overview
The Overburden Removal position is critical in the mining and construction sectors, focusing on the efficient and safe removal of overburden materials to facilitate access to valuable resources. The Overburden Removal team plays a vital role in ensuring that projects progress smoothly and efficiently. This is a floating position that will cover 4 locations. Defiance, Wright City, Old Monroe and Eureka, MO.
Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and haul trucks to remove overburden materials.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute removal strategies effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Monitor environmental conditions and report any hazards or concerns to supervisors.
- Assist in the transportation of removed materials to designated locations.
- Participate in training sessions for safety practices and equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices within the mining or construction industry.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration.
- Valid driver's license; additional certifications for operating specific machinery are a plus.
