BME is a privately held consulting Engineering and Land Surveying firm with the Design Professional Corporation (DPC) designation in the state of New York with approximately 30 employees operating in the greater Rochester area. A representative list of the essential functions and responsibilities for the position includes the following:
- Responsible for implementation of site environmental investigations including wetland delineations;
- Independent drafting of technical and summary reports and documents and exhibits;
- Assists with the preparation and administration of regulatory agency permits;
- Assists with mitigation monitoring and reporting;
- Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems;
- Maintains excellent communications and relations with government agency personnel;
- Performs basic CAD drafting;
- Assists with complex designs and calculations;
- Assists in preparation of project specifications and project documentation;
- Performs basic site observations and drawing reviews;
- Performs project base data collection, and;
- Reviews and understands regulatory agency standards.
Education and/or Experience:
- 2-year degree required in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental investigation, field analysis, report writing and government agency coordination.
- CAD and graphics experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well individually with minimal supervision, and as a team player.
- Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, MS Outlook, and Civil3D.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable vehicle.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Capable of walking long distances on potentially difficult terrain.
- Must work outside in inclement weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, snow).
- Willingness to attend training classes to obtain industry certifications, as necessary.
Salary Range: $35,000-$55,000 annually (dependent on years of experience)
