Job Description
BME Fire Trucks is seeking an experienced Leader to be part of our Production Team. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a Production Leader, you can expect to work in your hands on production role while helping our team achieve maximum quality and efficiency in daily tasks, and you should have exceptional organization, problem-solving skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. As a Production Leader you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of specialized production employees
- Assigning operations duties during shift
- Meeting production schedules
- Maintaining employee and product safety
- Guiding and training production employees and coordinating quality checks on assigned production line
- Ensuring work environments are prepared before and after shift.
- Anticipating and preventing shortages and downtime.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other departments as needed.
- Taking time to field questions, provide answers, and find solutions.
- Monitoring team morale and providing suggestions for and implementing improvement
- Helping to track and support goals for technicians.
- Having informal individual check-ins with technicians.
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- 3 years working in specialized manufacturing role (plumbing, chassis mechanics, assembly)
- 3 years leadership experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working mechanical knowledge
- Ability to pick up job specific knowledge and desire to learn
- Can-do attitude and ability to adapt to changing demands.
- Ability to follow through on tasks and projects ATC (accurately, timely and completely).

- Proficient computer skills
- Extensive production experience (electrical, fabrication, auto body/paint, diesel mechanics, plumbing)
- Project Management experience
