Schedule : Daytime hours Monday through Friday. Flexibility is needed some evening and weekend hours depending on work demands. Remote VPN as required.

POSITION SUMMARY : This position will be responsible for overseeing BMI FCU’s information security program, including providing guidance to the Cyber Security Analyst role. Responsibilities will also include researching and implementing new initiatives and improving the internal operational processes in the IT Department. The Senior Cyber Security & Application Support Analyst plays an important part in our company’s product support process and will be a subject matter expert on our most business-critical systems and programs. This position is a back up to other functions in the IT department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Supervise BMI FCU’s information security program at the execution level by providing guidance and learning to the Cyber Security Analyst roleResearch and implement new security initiatives and improve the internal operational processes in the IT Department. Once implemented, direct the Cyber Security Analyst’s required daily tasks in each of these areas to ensure compliance :Patch management function
Email securityWeb FilteringPC protection for Antivirus and endpoint detection and response (EDR)
Responsible for conducting proof of concept testing for new solutions prior to onboardingMaximize value of the SIEM tool we use (Security Information & Event Management)Implementing threat intelligence from Open Source and FS-ISAC using automationImplement, test, and document server and critical device hardening standardsInitiate development of in-depth network maps, document all external / internal connections, and data flowsWrite procedures and create documentation, Wikis, knowledgebase articlesCoordinate the IT security audit function lifecycle including vendor coordinationCollaborate with department heads and stakeholders to identify requirements and establish security proceduresLook for opportunities to innovate, gain efficiencies, and evolve our systemsImplement newly created procedures and workflows with new and existing software systemsDrive adoption of the IT / IS risk assessment functionCollaborate with Project Manager to drive adoption of PermissionAssist user access auditsDrive adoption of MFA and password vaulting software and systemsMonitor network traffic for security incidents and eventsInvestigate incidents and respond to events in real timeWrite detailed incident response reports
Install and operate firewalls, encryption programs, and other security softwareRemediate vulnerabilities as discovered by external / internal audit function and documentTier 3 application support ex : OnBase, FICS, CrystalSalient DVR upgradesResearch and prepare for Cloud MigrationEvaluate and update disaster recovery improvementsSpearhead Windows 11 implementation for 2025 deploymentAssist in monitoring Application Support inboxes and triaging and responding to help desk cases related to BMI FCU applications and productsLog bugs and defects that arise from investigationsPromote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverablesPrepare and present training and how-to guidance across the organizationCollaborate with various teams to ensure high productivity, reliability, scalability, and performance and support of applications and infrastructureEvaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problemsCommunicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, and end usersTest fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems are resolvedIdentify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organizationAttend classes and seminars to understand industry trends, standards, and accepted practicesMaintain composure in highly stressful or adverse situationsWORK ENVIRONMENT : Office environment
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent preferredCyber security certifications : Security , or equivalent preferredA minimum of 5 years of similar or related experience; previous experience in financial services highly desirable; a viable combination of experience and education will be consideredUnderstanding operational practices, risk management, architectural requirements, vulnerability and threat management and Incident ResponseAdvanced problem-solving skills in detecting errors, system problems, and transforming functional requirements into technical solutionsExperience supporting Microsoft products including Active Directory / AzureExcellent written and oral communication skillsHigh attention to detailProfessional demeanorHigh attention to information security principlesAbility to receive and maintain confidential informationAbility to work independently under minimal supervisionAbility to interact and communicate effectively with end users, vendors, and application developersPrevious experience supporting financial institution applicationsExcellent analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to identify and document solutions to business problems with accuracyAbility to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
