Warehouse Material Handler
The Material Handler is responsible for unloading inbound freight, verification against purchase orders, neatly and safely staging stock for put-away into the storage tiers onto pallets so that boxes are stable and able to be transported and stored in an overhead or pick bin. The Material Handler will also shrink-wrap stacked pallets using a semi-automated shrink-wrap machine and pallet jack, then stage the wrapped pallets for put-away.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Safely operate materials handling equipment.
- Remove pallets of inbound merchandise from trailers to the receiving floor and place the pallets in the proper staging areas.
- Handle inbound new pallets, stock pallet storage areas, remove broken pallets and stack them in the pallet trailer.
- Inspect goods for damage or faults before they are unloaded.
- Validate box and pallet counts per shipment.
- Complete paperwork / enter data into software to allow orders to be tracked.
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures in the warehouse.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
