BMO Bank N.A. seeks Specialist III-IC Quality Assurance in Naperville, IL to ensure the quality of the products that technology delivers, working closely with all applications, common services and middleware, and infrastructure teams throughout the development and engineering lifecycle; design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans of infrastructure, common services and middleware, data, and applications in various environments; record and document test results and evidence, including anomalies and issues, and compare them to expected results; detect solution failures to ensure defects may be discovered and corrected; manage defect triage calls as necessary and gather Root Cause Analysis for defects reported; generate historical analysis of test results and maintain a list and repository of defects; review and interpret all documentation related to testing, including business requirements and functional and design specifications, to provide input to the project team on the planning of testing activities; provide immediate response to production program problems and work with QA Manager, Dev Manager, Project Manager, and Test Analysts on the team to help manage certification and document such incidents; provide guidance on reviewing, evaluating, and driving requirements for testability to ensure review processes are followed; recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business; identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making; support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; manage and lead the development and implementation of complete test strategies; design and support the implementation of best-in-class testing strategies for complex solutions; perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive subsystem and system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance; create discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify and validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems, and systems; review, evaluate, and derive requirements for testability; design, develop, execute, and maintain testing strategies and plans to ensure stability and efficiency, enabling a seamless customer experience; execute and verify test cases as part of the overall functional testing of Information Technology products as well as reporting defects and test results to the stakeholders; recommend approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes and systems in the organization to improve overall efficiency; ensure the accuracy and consistency of test results through documentation processes; communicate the overall quality of a deliverable and ensure metrics are used to drive delivery and identify any areas of concern; participate as an active stakeholder in every initiative, driving quality based on fact-based metrics; ensure development teams’ unit testing practices are in place and confirm core criteria met prior to integrated testing delivery; proactively provide improvement opportunities to the team to enhance the customer experience; and, drive the testing automation capabilities. Position allows partial telecommute benefits: at least one (1) day/week remote.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business (willing to accept foreign education equivalent, including a three-year degree) plus four (4) years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst or Tester leading and initiating testing for bundle release working with upstream and downstream systems, including managing test execution and coordinating with resources on managing problems to resolution, within an IT or business environment. Specific skills/other requirements -Must also have experience with: Performing analysis of test results and preparing a comprehensive system level evaluation report to verify and validate system functionality and performance; reviewing, evaluating, and deriving requirements for testability into Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and required automation tools; and driving testing automation during bundle release, including script review, script development, and script execution.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
