Job Summary: We seek an experienced Excavation Superintendent to oversee and manage excavation operations on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while upholding the highest quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Project Management: Oversee all excavation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of excavation crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Safety Compliance: At BMP Consultants LLC, we prioritize safety. As the Excavation Superintendent, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain our high safety standards.
- Site Management: Conduct site assessments and prepare excavation plans. Ensure that all excavation work is performed in accordance with local regulations and environmental considerations.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of excavation equipment. Ensure that all machinery is in good working order and that operators are adequately trained.
- Quality Control: At BMP Consultants LLC, we are committed to delivering high-quality results. As the Excavation Superintendent, you will monitor work progress and quality to ensure adherence to project specifications. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain our high standards of excellence.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, daily reports, safety inspections, and incident reports. Ensure proper documentation is submitted to management and clients.
**Qualifications**
- A high school diploma or equivalent and a relevant degree or certification in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in excavation or heavy civil construction in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
- OSHA certification and additional safety training preferred.
**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to navigate construction sites safely and effectively.
