BMT Aerospace is a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing machining company seeking Final Quality Inspector for NIGHTS (5:30 PM to 5;00AM). This is a perfect opportunity for Quality Inspector with manufacturing experience in a low volume precision machining environment. Our clean and air conditioned facility is located in Fraser, Michigan.

The hourly rate will depend on experience.

Position Summary:
The Final Quality Inspector identify products that don’t meet quality standards. The role of a Quality Inspector is to use their observational skills to notice when a material, product part or finished product differs from the blueprints. The Quality Inspector quickly and efficiently assesses incoming products at their assigned stage of production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review manufacturing routers to assure job completion
- Request/Build gaging instruments
- Perform final dimensional/visual inspection Perform first article “Layout” inspection
- Process job close out Manufacturing/Engineering, Interface/Interact
- Conduct routine and non-routine inspections of raw materials, parts and assemblies according to established guidelines.
- Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate inspection.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Communicate inspection results to manufacturing engineers and suggest necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure all testing equipment is regularly serviced and maintained.
- Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Generate & process nonconforming materials reports
- Other duties applied.
Qualifications:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- 2-5 years’ experience in aerospace or automotive receiving / inspection is desirable
- Attention to detail
- Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents and manuals
- Able to use micrometers and height gage
- Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
- Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations
- Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Dexterity, physical strength and physical stamina
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
