Starting Range: $77,193- $105,024

Job Summary: The Compensation Manager is responsible for management and administration of compensation and some benefit programs. Works closely with the Director, Total Rewards, Director, HR/Organizational Development, HR Managers, HRIS Manager, Benefits Specialist and Operations leaders. The Compensation Manager manages the organization's pay structure. Other responsibilities include monitoring market conditions and government regulations to ensure MNAA's organization's pay rates are current and competitive.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates compensation programs that establish pay grades and criteria for raises.
  • Develops new benefits programs to increase total compensation for employees.
  • Creates development of compensation related policies.
  • Educates employees and managers about compensation policies, procedures, and philosophy.
  • Sets and adjusts pay and benefits structures to ensure they are competitive and compliant with regulations.
  • Generates reports and provides insights on compensation trends, costs, and effectiveness.
  • Researches market trends to evaluate the competitiveness of salaries; oversees the job grading and process for the creation of new roles into our grading structure.
  • Reviews, evaluates and revises compensation programs regularly.
  • Conducts surveys to assess employee satisfaction with pay and benefits.
  • Advises both the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring leaders as needed about matters related to pay.
  • Compiles and audits annual performance incentive calculations for annual pay-out.
  • Aligns compensation programs with recruitment strategies to attract quality candidates.
  • Complies with federal, state and local compensation laws, such as minimum wage regulations.
  • Analyzes appropriate surveys for benchmarking compensation and benefits programs.
  • Partners with the Talent Acquisition Team as needed to review special compensation scenarios.
  • Works with Finance to forecast benefits and compensation costs.
  • Ensures that compensation programs are supportive of Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness (DEI).
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Supports MNAA’s commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources and Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

  • Compensation Systems: Knowledge of compensation systems, and practices for administering and maintaining the systems.
  • Analytical Thinking: Skill in analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Human Resource Regulations: Knowledge of federal, state, and local human resources regulations such as those stipulated by the EEOC, Department of Labor, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Human Resource Strategy: Knowledge of the strategic philosophy involved in developing human resources initiatives that are aligned with and closely linked to business objectives.
  • Human Resources and Personnel: Knowledge of principles and strategies for recruitment, sourcing, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
  • Problem Solving: Skill in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Safety and Security: Knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security.
  • Computer Use: Skill in using a personal computer, the internet, and other software to perform job-related functions.
  • Customer Service: Skill in providing customer service, including listening to customers' needs, identifying customer solutions, assessing quality of customer services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Skill in communicating effectively at all levels of the organization and with stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
  • Microsoft Office: Skill in using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft Windows: Skill in using the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Researching: Skills in conducting research, including identifying research questions, planning research, gathering data, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
  • Presenting: Skill in developing and delivering presentations, both oral and written to groups of varying size.
  • Project Management: Skill in conceptualizing and managing complex projects and managing multiple projects using established project management principles.
  • Attention to Detail: Is careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Service Orientation: Actively looks for ways to help people.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in business, human resources or related field
  • 5-7 years of related experience
