JOB SUMMARY:

A Survey CAD Technician utilizes CAD software to create and modify survey maps and drawings, working with engineers and surveyors to ensure accuracy and quality in project deliverables. They process field data and ensure compliance with industry standards and client demands. 

SALARY RANGE: $45.00 - $60.00 hourly, $93,600.00 - $124,000.00  annually (companywide)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process field data from survey crews into CAD formats (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D/Carlson Survey). 
• Prepare various survey drawings, including as-builts, and topographic maps. 
• Perform quality control checks of drawings, and other deliverables. 
• Coordinate with project team to meet client demands and project timelines. 
• Work with engineers and surveyors to understand project requirements and provide technical support. 
• Provide technical office support to field crews. 
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey). 
• Understanding of survey principles, equipment, and procedures. 
• Ability to interpret field notes, maps, and other material. 
• Ability to perform surveying and engineering computations. 
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree or formal CAD training preferred. 
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in surveying or a surveying-related field is often required.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
