Business Overview:

The GMA Chief Conduct & Control Officer (“CCCO”) is responsible for supporting the CIB Americas CCCO in establishing and deploying a strong conduct & permanent control framework on all non-financial risks (operational, conduct and regulatory) throughout Global Markets Americas.

This role reports to the CIB Americas CCCO and the deputy head of GMA, and will be a member of the GMA Executive Committee. There is a dotted reporting line to the global GM Deputy CCCO to ensure global co-ordination and alignment.

Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • The GMA CCCO will support senior management to identify and assess non-financial risks and to ensure that the controls and other responses that mitigate risk are enforced and monitored for compliance.
  • The regional GMA heads of OPC, FOCS and Regulatory Change Management will report into him / her, in addition to their existing global reporting lines.
  • The GMA CCCO will be a member of the global GM CCCO Exco and will work with the global leadership to ensure efficient coordination, including on resources and organization, articulation of regional and global projects and initiatives, and alignment of policies and practices.

Operational Risk:

  • Drive the identification and assessment of risks and controls (Risk and Control Self-Assessment), and contribute to the definition and follow-up of remediation plans if needed
  • Ensure that Group procedures are implemented locally, complemented with local specificities
  • Ensure the existence of a clear Control Plan for GMA, according to the outcome of the risk assessment, regulations and other risk events (historical incidents, control results, external events, audit missions, …)
  • Ensure historical incidents are collected and analyzed in a timely manner and define, jointly with relevant stakeholders the corrective measures to be implemented to mitigate risks
  • Participate in the existing relevant governance
  • Ensure preparation of appropriate materials and presentations for the various supervisory bodies (Senior Management, Boards, Regulators), escalating to CIB Americas CCCO as required
  • Regulatory Change Management:
  • all new regulations applicable to GMA
  • Oversee delivery of improvement remediation plans based on material weaknesses identified in the annual self-assessment
  • Engage with local & global stakeholders to ensure appropriate & efficient regulatory engagement, including but not limited to GMA-focused exam management
  • Tightly monitor the closure of IG, RISK ORC, Regulatory, or Auditors’ findings
  • Launch any necessary programs or other efforts to ensure regulatory compliance or a well-functioning conduct/controls framework monitoring

Conduct Risk:

  • Act as a first level of escalation for FOCS GMA alerts
  • Ensure regional FOCS requirements are well-represented in global and regional IT prioritization
  • Act as an Ambassador of the BNPP Code of Conduct within GMA scope
  • Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place within GMA
  • Ensure conduct-related remediation is appropriately prioritized and implemented within GMA, including but not limited to managing the refinement & enforcement of the Approved Communication Channels procedure and Project Verdi
  • Manage the GMA CBF process at mid-year and year-end, ensuring check and challenge with GMA management providing data to the CIB Americas CCCO for collation and presentation
  • Support the implementation of conduct-oriented initiatives in GMA, as directed by the regional, global and metier CCCOs; liaise with global GM Conduct team to ensure alignment on execution of Conduct priorities, including but not limited to training, policies and procedures, governance, reporting, remediation, etc.

Overall GMA CCCO Management and Leadership:

  • Manage cost and headcount budget
  • Ensure adequate resourcing and skills in the GMA CCCO teams, hire and develop and train talents
  • Continuously assess team performance and review organization as relevant
  • Ensure value for money for GMA business, in coordination with GMA COO and leadership team
  • Prioritize and sponsor regional initiatives, in coordination with GMA and global leadership

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of GMA platform
  • Strong level of operational oversight & non-financial risk
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Experience of large team management
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders across the Group

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or advanced degree preferred

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $335,000 to $400,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
