The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the company's successes, ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

 

This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX.  For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

 

Travel is minimal (less than 10%).

 

Key responsibilities may include: 

Responsibility for handling billing/payment oversight for shortline and haulage railroads where traffic is interchanged along with validating activity around setbacks.

Partnering with the Shortline Development team on contract amendments and rate adjustments.

Actively communicate with shortline and haulage carriers on any issues that might arise related to invoices, disputes, etc.

Develop, maintain, and provide metrics addressing timeliness, quality, and accuracy of team, including development and documentation for best practices.

Work closely and collaboratively with Technology Services and Financial Solutions Management teams to identify, prioritize, and deliver enhancements to streamline processes, improve data visibility, and ensure accuracy.

Identify and implement process changes to improve customer experience, improve department efficiency, accuracy and controls and assist with long-term system planning to enable growth.

 

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

 

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future. 
  • Associate's degree with progress towards Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 0-1 year experience in finance-related field. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Willing to work towards applicable professional certification(s).
