We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Securities Finance Regulatory Strategy and Tax Analyst to join our Markets team. This role is located in New York, NY or Boston, MA - HYBRID
Role Summary:
Responsible for developing regulatory strategy for BNY's Securities Finance business globally, with a primary focus on US regulatory change. This role requires an understanding of the regulatory and tax landscape impacting securities finance, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret complex regulations and tax laws. The successful candidate will work closely with the global Securities Finance Regulatory Strategy & Commercial Enablement team, as well as business leaders, legal and compliance teams, and external stakeholders to ensure that BNY's Securities Finance business remains compliant with relevant regulations and tax requirements and remains competitive in an evolving global regulatory environment.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
• Develop and implement regulatory strategy and tax-related initiatives for the Securities Finance business, in collaboration with business leaders, product & strategy teams, trading, sales, relationship management, legal and compliance teams, clients and external stakeholders.
• Analyze and interpret regulations and tax laws impacting securities finance strategic growth initiatives, and provide guidance and advisory steer to business leaders and other stakeholders.
• Monitor and assess global regulatory and tax developments impacting securities finance, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure compliance and manage risk, on existing and evolving future business strategy.
• Collaborate with other teams across BNY to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to regulatory and tax matters.
• Support development of general business strategy initiatives to articulate strategic priorities and opportunities for growth, when needed.
• Develop and maintain strong internal relationships and relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other external stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to business leaders and other stakeholders on regulatory and tax matters impacting securities finance
• Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: :
• Bachelor's degree in finance, law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory strategy, tax, or a related field, with a focus on securities finance.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory and tax landscape impacting securities finance.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude to influence a wide range of stakeholders across the organization.
• Excellent analytical, verbal & written communication skills.
• Proactive self-starter with questioning mindset. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to remain agile in a fast-paced, global environment often under tight time constraints.
• Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $97,000 and $179,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
