Job Summary:
Join our team and play a pivotal role in collaborating with application teams to determine the most suitable MQ implementation for their needs. You will be responsible for provisioning MQ infrastructure on mainframe Zos and distributed platforms. Specifically, your expertise in MQ administration on Zos will be crucial in configuring and supporting queue sharing group configurations, clusters, channel authentications, certificates, and more. Your broader understanding of mainframe dependencies will be essential in supporting capacity, IPL, and DR events. Additionally, you will provide support on MQ-related alerts and incidents while contributing to change management and DR events.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with application teams to explore optimal MQ implementations.
- Provision MQ infrastructure on mainframe Zos and distributed platforms.
- Configure and support queue sharing group configurations, clusters, channel authentications, certificates, etc., on the mainframe.
- Provide assistance on MQ-related alerts and incidents.
- Contribute to change management and DR events.
- Demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in administering MQ in zOS environment.
- Strong knowledge of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, clusters with mainframe QManager members, channel authentications in zOS, TLS certificate management, and stream Queues.
- Understanding of MQ application programming (C, COBOL, or Java) in zOS environment.
- Solid grasp of MQ DR events on the mainframe and underlying dependencies.
- Knowledge of MQ upgrade process in zOS environment.
- Basic understanding of security exits.
- Familiarity with change management and incident practices.
- Ability to multitask and manage deliverables under time pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 - 10 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in securities or financial services industry is a plus.
