We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate to join our BNY Commercial Real Estate Credit team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL in a Hybrid work environment.
About the team:
Commercial Real Estate Credit Risk ensures the effective management and implementation and adherence to the credit risk management strategy for the Bank’s and our clients’ real estate portfolios. Our credit portfolio consists of multifamily, affordable housing, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, and other commercial real estate located nationwide. We operate in a hybrid work arrangement, with 3 days per week needed in-office
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Work directly with the Credit Portfolio Manager (CPM) and Credit Division Head (CDH) of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) in managing the credit risk of the CRE portfolio.
- Critically review underwriting proposals submitted to Credit Risk. Identify strengths and weaknesses of the proposal, as well as test assumptions and challenge/question applicable aspects of the proposal.
- Provide critical commentary on annual loan reviews of CRE lending facilities.
- With direct guidance, assists with credit reviews or credit submissions and other related administrative activities and operations for the CRE credit portfolio.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree or advancement towards the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) is preferred. Completion of credit training a plus.
- 3-5 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in credit risk preferred along with strong computer application skills including MS Excel and Power Point.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Real Estate, with a desire to learn.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely; some presentation experience is a plus.
- Credit Administration: Experience as an underwriter and familiarity with credit administration systems typically used by financial institutions is a plus.
