We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Regulatory Analysis and Reporting to join our External Reporting team. This role is located in New York, NY HYBRID.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supports Business Risk and Control managers to ensure risk culture and controls environment meet standards set as a first line of defense.
  • Implements the policies, procedures and controls that maintain the accuracy of data being reported.
  • Implements plans and programs that help automate the regulatory reporting process and limitation of control gaps.
  • Supports more senior team members in maintaining the appropriate risk culture.
  • Assists in root cause and variance analyses to determine where there are control gaps and contributes to the development of programs to address them.
  • Examines reports for accuracy, consistency, and compliance against regulatory mandates.
  • Understands the processes and products within the relevant systems from which regulatory reports are created.
  • Begins to lead projects in support of new or evolving processes / products which may affect regulatory reports.
  • Contributes to the development of validation processes for data, including assessment and monitoring of data quality issues.
  • Executes validation processes. Participates in and oversees data cleansing/remediation activities.
  • Prepares reports, and reviews accuracy of reports and calculations performed by more junior team members.
  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and delivers results to management and/or other leaders.
  • Execute data analyses utilizing tools such as Alteryx or MS Power BI.
  • Accountable for the attestation process. Independently signs-off on the integrity of the data delivered.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to remove barriers to successful regulatory reporting implementation.
  • No direct reports. Provides guidance to more junior team members as needed. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A degree in computer science or a related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $56,000 and $156,200 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

About The Team

Finance helps our internal clients outperform over time. At BNY Mellon, Finance serves our internal clients by providing world-class accounting operations and control and decision support while instituting world-class change management Global Procurement is responsible for establishing the programs to acquire products and services for BNY Mellon by employing deep category knowledge and commodity expertise, coupled with an understanding of the needs of our businesses and business partner groups. The Corporate Treasury group is responsible for managing the investment portfolios and the liquidity and capital positions of the various subsidiary banks and of BNY Mellon.
