What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Boar's Head Outfitters?
BHO Camp Counselor is responsible for providing supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to campers, during programs and assisting the Lead Counselors in providing instruction and ongoing assistance during programs.
- Act as an integral member of the summer camp program team
- Assist and participate in the following tasks: supervision of campers, administering behavior protocol as directed, administering all medical protocol as directed, verbal and physical assistance, and complete all other tasks as directed
- Assist Lead Counselor in implementing assigned programs
- Complete and submit all required paperwork by set deadlines
- Assist Lead Counselor in assessing program equipment and supply needs
- Assist in the care, cleanliness, and security of the facility used by campers during the program
- Monitors safety of all aspects of the program and campers
- Communicates all pertinent issues affecting the programs to Lead Counselor
- Establish good rapport with families of the program campers as well as keeping them informed about concerns affecting the campers
- Participate in all required trainings and certifications in compliance with the organization’s standards
- Communicate clearly, honestly and respectfully with staff, campers and parents
- Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while promoting program policies and procedures amongst staff
- Ability to be flexible, creative and adaptable to situations
Counselor Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a criminal background check
- Must be able to commit to contracted dates from June 1st- August 4th 2020
- Must live off-site and commute each day, Room board will not be provided
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated history of responsibility, dependability, and maturity; ability to be flexible, creative and adaptable to situations
- Demonstrated history of responsibility, dependability, and maturity
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $565.00 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
