Overview:
Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the DAF/wastewater treatment facility and its processes. The WWT operator is responsible for holding necessary licenses, interacting with vendors and appropriate agencies, and will train any backup operators.
Job Description:
Essential Functions
- Monitor equipment for potential failures and may make repairs or adjustments as needed
- Ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other wastewater treatment equipment are functioning properly.
- Monitor plant levels and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper flow through the plant
- Conduct sampling as per Indiana and Federal EPA standards both in a laboratory setting and on the plant floor
- Responsible for oversite of official records and facility audit by local and state agencies.
- Responsible for chemical equations that change constantly depending on the output and product mix from the manufacturing facility
- Foster and collaborate working relations with contractors, vendors and various local and state officials
- Conduct exterior rounds, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and project work as needed.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years experience in the field or a related area
- 2-5 years general maintenance or treatment plant experience
