What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engeneering Associate position at Boardman Foods Inc?
1. Equipment Reliability & Solution Development
o Assess equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and uptime.
o Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement upgrades or modifications to extend equipment life.
o Collaborate with maintenance teams to refine preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
o Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for recurring mechanical and process failures including providing engineering support for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues to minimize downtime.
2. Production Process Optimization
o Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
o Implement best practices in process control to maintain consistency and quality in production.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
o Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements and equipment installations.
o Provide training to operators and maintenance personnel on new procedures and technologies.
o Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
o Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
o Support the Quality Assurance department with implementation of corrective actions when necessary.
o Ensure all processes and projects align with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP, SQF) and internal quality standards.
4. Project Implementation
o Assist in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or process lines.
o Develop specifications for both purchased and fabricated equipment.
o Review equipment specifications and layouts, and work with internal and external project stakeholders
o Support capital projects through review of drawings, layouts, schedules, and available infrastructure
o Evaluate project feasibility and prepare cost-benefit analyses.
