Overview
The Boardman Township Trustees are seeking to fill the position of Full Time Laborer in the Road Department.
Applicants are required to possess a valid Ohio driver's CDL A or B License or be willing to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment and pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check. Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by knowledge of maintenance work or any combination of relevant education or experience.

Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of unskilled, and semi-skilled laborer tasks in order to assist with the maintenance of streets and other Township facilities or property. Sprays weeds and grasses, mows grass, cuts weeds, landscapes, erects street signs, paints traffic lines, installs guardrails, patches roadways, seals cracks in roadways, cleans and repairs storm sewers, maintains drainage pipes, installs catch basins, cleans ditches, plows snow, trims and cuts trees, pours and finishes concrete, etc.
- Inspects equipment prior to operation in order to ensure such equipment is safe to operate.
- Maintains and makes minor repairs to tools and equipment.
- Maintains proper communication with supervisor
- Maintains required licensure and certification.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential job functions.
- Performs other related duties and assigned.
Equipment Operated (Examples, not intended to be all inclusive)
- Pick-up truck, snow removal equipment, mowers, weed trimmers, power tools and other small tools.
Inherently Hazardous or Physically Demanding Working Conditions:
- Works with or around motorized equipment, hand and power tools; works with and around chemicals and liquid fuels; works under adverse weather conditions; is exposed to dust, dirt, and fumes; is exposed to noise and traffic; may occasionally lift and move heavy objects.
- Note: In accordance with the US Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered heavy work.
