Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com.   We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician / Field Technician / Sr. Field Technician in our Olla, LA  office.   POSITION DESCRIPTION:   To carry out daily operation and maintenance tasks associated with the pipeline system and Olla compressor station in the Olla, LA area. This position will be responsible for environmental, health & safety for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system and compressor station located near Olla, LA. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, valve inspection and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, one calls and plant operator rotation. This position will be responsible for performing all assigned construction duties as well as preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, corrosion control, and right of way maintenance. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. In this role, you will also be responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to pipeline/compressor activities. Qualified candidate must live within 30 miles of the Olla Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently. Successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures.   REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Physical requirements standing/walking carrying and lifting items 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet Working conditions - exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures and enclosed spaces Strong computer skills Excellent verbal communications skills Valid Drivers License with clean driving record High school diploma or equivalent   PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: ·          Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities as well as familiar with DOT 192 Regulations  Mechanical and/or Electrical industry related training     REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma   PREFERRED EDUCATION: College or Technical Degree     ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
