Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com.   We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician to work in our Plaquemine, LA location.         POSITION DESCRIPTION:   To carry out daily operation and maintenance tasks associated with the pipeline and metering/pump facilities in the Port Allen / Plaquemine operating area.  This position will be responsible for environmental, health & safety for natural gas, ethylene, ethane, propylene, propane, and brine through the pipeline system, pump stations located in Port Allen, Plaquemine, and Geismer LA areas.  Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, valve inspection and maintenance, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling and one calls.  This position will be responsible for performing all assigned construction duties as well as preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, corrosion control, and right of way maintenance.  This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response.  This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT 195 and 192 regulations, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances.  This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and be on a call-out rotation related to the pipeline and other area operating facilities. Successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures. The candidate for this position is required to live within 30 miles of BLMs Plaquemine office.   REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:   Physical Requirements - Standing/walking; climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; bending/stooping/squatting; carrying and lifting items 50 lbs for a minimum of 50 feet; Working Conditions - Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold temperatures; enclosed spaces Mechanical aptitude Strong computer skills Excellent verbal communication skills Problem solving skills and ability to manage filing system History of safe work Valid Driver License   PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:   Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities Familiar with DOT 192 and 195 Regulations Field Tech experience   REQUIRED EDUCATION:   High School Diploma or equivalent   PREFERRED EDUCATION:   College or Technical School Degree in related field   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
