We are currently looking for a Data Analyst to work in our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will function as a Data Analyst in the Estimating group and will report to the Manager of Engineering Services. Some travel to field locations will be necessary.
The Data Analyst is responsible for:
Managing the third party ARBO contract for data mining projects
Building and maintaining a library of cost metrics to enable quick screening of project opportunities
Establishing and maintaining benchmarking metrics (estimated and actuals), including brownfield and greenfield projects for pipelines ($/inch-mile) and compression ($/HP)
Performing on-going cost metrics comparisons on BWP internal cost estimates and actual project costs vs benchmarking data, to identify data gaps and project execution gaps
Performing on-going cost metrics comparisons on BWP actual project costs vs actual costs of industry peer projects of similar scope, to gauge BWP cost competitiveness
Collaborating with Supply Chain and External Sources to establish and maintain an intelligence system which monitors look-ahead Contractor and Critical Vendor capacities vs Industry Consumption to forecast gaps and identify areas requiring contract strategies to ensure resources are available when needed
Analyze, create, slice and dice data for ad-hoc reports and presentation to management
Developing project cash flows
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong analytical thinker with a high level of problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Self-motivated and exhibits open collaboration with others to seek out solutions.
Ability to lead others and manage assignments in a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office software.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Six Sigma
Experience in Project Controls
Experience with Risk Modeling
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
