Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com.   We are currently looking for an Engineering Intern to work in our Houston, TX location.         POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The engineer intern will provide engineering support on a variety of natural gas pipeline and meter projects in order to provide for the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of natural gas.       This person will be responsible for supporting engineering and interpreting company specifications to scope projects and direct engineering and construction firms.  This person will be responsible for checking drawing packages for adherence to project goals as well as company and industry specifications, codes, and standards. This person will select appropriate material and ensure it is fit for purpose. This person will support various project managers and numerous projects.  This position will primarily support pipeline and meter station projects.   REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:   Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing a bachelor of science in engineering. Strong skill level in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast pace environment Sound technical mindset to be able to review and understand engineering deliverables Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction and land contracts. Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel, landowners and contractors. 3.0 GPA Able to travel up to 50% of the time Valid driver’s license and insurability   PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:   Mechanical or Civil Engineering track Prior internship or COOP experience Leadership position in school projects and/or extracurricular organizations Volunteer experience 3.5 GPA   REQUIRED EDUCATION:   High School Diploma or equivalent Civil/Mechanical Engineering Must be a current Junior or Senior student   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.   Boardwalk Pipelines, LP is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
