We are currently looking for a System Optimization Engineering Intern to work in our Houston, TX location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide support for a variety of System Optimization functions including sending daily and monthly reports, providing historical data analysis, implementing process improvements, and assisting team members as needed.
Become familiar with pipeline simulation software to determine operational capabilities of gas pipeline facilities including evaluating volumetric impacts for scheduled/unscheduled facility outages and in-service restrictions to minimize customer impacts.
Assist with capacity scheduling processes to determine Gulf South volumetric service levels that can be provided for the five NAESB daily nomination cycles given changing pipeline operational limitations.
Conduct real-time and predictive gas quality evaluations for the Coastal Bend Header.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Strong technical aptitude and computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Strong data management and analysis skills
Good interpersonal skills to work in team environment
3.0 GPA
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Familiarity with fluid mechanics
Leadership position in extracurricular organizations and/or school projects
3.5 GPA
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Must be a current Junior or Senior student
