What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Swim Coach position at Boars Head Resort?
Description:
Boar's Head Resort is now accepting applications for seasonal Assistant Swim Team Coaches to join our Sports Club team! As an Assistant Coach, you will be responsible for motivating children ages 5-17 years of age to participate in swim practice and compete on the Swim Team.
- Assist in planning practice drills.
- Assist in preparing swim meet line-up.
- Assist in preparing and keeping swimmer records.
- Help to maintain meet entries, swimmer time boards and a list of swimmers who miss each meet.
- Assist in preparing and posting motivational games and challenges on the Swim Team bulletin board.
- Help to prepare swimmers and staff for meets.
- Teach swim classes on an as-needed basis.
- Help new parents at meets by answering questions about what to expect.
- Execute goals for the Swim Team as determined by The Sports Club and Head Swim Team Coach.
Essential
- General knowledge of swimming skills and competition.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with children of all ages.
- Ability to attend all practices, meets and functions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to help motivate participants.
Desirable:
- Strong background in competitive swimming.
- Strong computer skills.
- Previous experience as a swimming coach/teacher.
- Training in water safety (ie. Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, etc.)
