Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper

Boater's World Marine Centers in Bradenton, FL, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper/Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our dealership's grounds and facilities are well-maintained and presentable at all times. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment surrounded by boats and marine equipment while contributing to the overall success of our dealership.

Responsibilities:

1. Grounds Maintenance:

• Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep the dealership's grounds clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing.
• Mow lawns, trim bushes, and maintain flower beds to enhance the overall appearance of the property.
• Remove debris, litter, and other waste from the premises to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Monitor and report any issues related to landscaping, irrigation systems, or outdoor facilities.

2. Facility Maintenance:

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, walkways, and outdoor structures to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry work, and basic plumbing.
• Ensure that all outdoor signage, lighting fixtures, and other equipment are functioning properly.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling outdoor displays or event spaces as needed.

3. Equipment Maintenance:

• Maintain and operate various types of landscaping and maintenance equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and power tools.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor for prompt resolution.

4. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries while performing maintenance tasks.
• Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, such as chemicals or waste products, in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.

5. Indoor Cleaning:

• Take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness within the dealership's indoor areas, including showrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, and cleaning windows to ensure a welcoming and professional environment for customers and staff.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, notifying management of any shortages or maintenance issues.
• Assist with the setup and cleaning of indoor displays, promotional materials, and merchandise to enhance the overall presentation of the dealership.

6. Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management that are within the scope of the position and contribute to the overall success of the dealership.

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
