What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Boathouse Asian Eatery?
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Dishwasher reports to and takes direction from the Director of Operations, the Assistant General Manager, Assistant Manager, the Floor Supervisor, and the Corporate Chef.
BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Dishwasher thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, glassware, utensils and pots and performs other routine cleaning of equipment and the restaurant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Understand and follow all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines.
- Set up and prepare dish machine for proper operation.
- Maintain adequate levels of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine.
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize all soiled dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans.
- Restock all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans that have been cleaned to their appropriate storage area.
- Keep the work area clean and safe, keeping walkways clear and floors dry.
- Work as a cohesive, unified team with the rest of the BOH staff, filling in where needed to ensure efficient operations.
- Remove all trash, recycling, and compost from the kitchen and transport to the dumpster area.
- Clean and sanitize garbage cans daily.
- Sweep and/or mop floors in the event of spills or broken items.
- Remove and clean floor mats prior to cleaning and mopping kitchen floor daily.
- Clean all equipment, storage areas, walk-ins and restaurant as directed.
- Maintain dish station in an organized and clean condition throughout shift.
- Break down, clean and sanitize the dish machine at the end of a shift.
- Must be able to handle high-volume of production during lunch and dinner rushes.
- Completes all opening and closing duties for assigned workstation.
- Communicate all product shortages or broken equipment to management.
- Comply with all federal, state, city, county and municipal food safety regulations.
- Required to attend all mandatory meetings when scheduled.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as requested by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least 6 months of restaurant kitchen experience, training provided.
- Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines and basic dish machine operations.
- Ability to work with and be part of a team.
- Must be dependable, reliable, responsible, and punctual.
- Must be able to take and understand directions and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail, stay organized and work well under pressure.
- Must possess ServSafe Certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, up to eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift (up to) 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
