Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Manager to oversee our operations and ensure the highest quality of work in our shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and remodeling, with hands-on experience in various trades. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, leading a team of skilled workers, and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
The Cabinet Shop Foreman will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the cabinets shop, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are delivered to our clients. The duties of this position are listed as follows:
- Position requires excellent problem solving skills
- Position requires an individual who can work both independently as needed, and also within the framework of a Team
- Position requires a strong set of interpersonal skills. Strong ability to connect with people/clients on personal and professional levels as needed
- Continue educational advancement as needed to stay on trend with current tool advancements and capabilities
- Continue educational advancement for all relative construction practices and procedures
- Promote Company capabilities as Complete Cabinet and Specialty Woodworking facility
- Develop a solid working relationship/partnership with all established clients. Work closely with other leadership within The Anderson Construction Group to cultivate and establish new client leads.
- Develop solid working relationships with all existing and potential vendors of product
- Advise leadership within The Anderson Construction Group to necessary Tool software and hardware upgrades as may be needed to be effective in the position and to run an efficient/proficient shop
- Work closely with CFO to establish billing structure from initial design to completion of project
- Work with potential clients and staff in the following capacities:
- Initial Consultation
- Discuss and collect initial down payment for projects
- Accurately measure all project parameters
- Accurately assess all potential roadblocks to client visions for project(s)
- Draw/Design project(s) based on client wishes and budget realities.
- Write/develop full project scope(s)
- Create materials lists/take-offs as each project may dictate
- Order materials/lead time items as may be needed for each project.
- Present project to clients. Complete sale of project and establish realistic start
dates
- Upon completion of sale, work with internal Team to write contract, develop
schedule, and procure materials as needed to launch the project.
- Cabinet Fabrication – Oversee the fabrication process and the employees who are engaged in daily activities.
- Shop Cleanliness – Maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards
- Tool Maintenance – Ensure that all tools are properly maintained and in good working order
- Team Management – Supervise and Train all shop personnel. Create a cohesive, professional and productive work environment.
- Inventory – Work to consistently regulate materials and potential scrap. Order as needed to control overstock conditions and wasteful use of products. Work to utilize all products that are already in existing inventory.
- Work closely with Social Media Consultant to inform of specialty projects that can be added to our portfolio. Maintain consistent photographic documentation of all projects, including “professional” shots of finished projects as deemed applicable
Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in cabinet making or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of woodworking/cabinet fabrication tools and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Pay: $70,938.00 - $76,856.00 per year
