What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biology Lab Assistant (Student) position at Bob Jones University?
SUMMARY: Prepare reagents and supplies for biology lab courses and enforce student life policies in the science building.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare reagents and supplies for biology laboratory courses and set up/tear down labs
- Assist students with gathering supplies for experiments as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and reagents and request orders as needed
- Monitor the activities of the science building and enforce student life policies on nights and weekends
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- Currently enrolled as a student in the Biology, Premed/pre-dent, or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology programs
- Students in other Natural Sciences or Science Education programs considered
- Ability to diligently and accurately execute basic laboratory techniques
- Clearly demonstrate leadership and/or collaborative skills
