What are the responsibilities and job description for the BJA Early Learning Center Aide position at Bob Jones University?
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide building support for the ELC by performing all teacher’s aide responsibilities as well as additional assistance when needed in the classroom, at recess, and lunch.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Results Area #1 Perform all teacher’s aide responsibilities
- Daily report to classroom teachers for tasks to complete
- Neatly and precisely perform all necessary copying, cutting, filing, laminating, and grading
- Assist with mounting and removing hallway decorations
Key Results Area #2: Provide building support
- Assist teachers in the classroom when extra help is needed
- Fulfill assigned recess duties
- Oversee and participate in lunchroom duties and cleanup
- Manage and assist with all outside décor
- Provide office communication to parents when needed
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Understanding of elementary level students and teaching
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational abilities and problem-solving skills
- Enjoys working with children
- Bachelors degree in elementary education preferred.
- Degree in area of teaching plus appropriate experience preferred; work on graduate degree preferred
