What are the responsibilities and job description for the BJA Primary Center Teacher's Assistant position at Bob Jones University?
POSITION SUMMARY: Work as an assistant to the full time staff member in a K3-K5 classroom.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in implementation of daily curriculum that provides social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual experiences
- Follow proper safety guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and techniques
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices of young children
- Ability to provide guidance for young children
- Ability to work with children and move quickly, assist and supervise young children, lift children, equipment, and supplies, and hear and see at a distance
- Exhibit patience, creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm, and stamina
- Able to constantly lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to constantly push/pull up to 25 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk constantly
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
- 15 clock hours of training annually pertaining to growth and development, curriculum, health and safety and professional development
- Bloodborne Pathogens and Right to Know training as required by law
- Successful completion of background checks, physical, and PPD (TB skin test)
