What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Arts Crew (Student) position at Bob Jones University?
SUMMARY: Assist Culinary Arts Faculty and Lab Supervisors by daily maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation of the Culinary Arts Lab. Additional responsibilities include food preparation and production. Opportunities for helping with dining events may be available. Black closed-toe, slip- resistant shoes required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing daily checklists issued by Chef Instructor
- Scaling, preparing and occasional cooking of food items
- Cleaning & sanitizing lab
- Managing food in dry storage and refrigerators
- Putting away deliveries
- Organizing equipment
- Comprehensive floor and equipment cleaning and sanitizing.
- Available shifts M-F 5:30 pm to 10 pm.
- Additional shift opportunities for events (not required).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to stand/work physically for long periods of time (events).
- Average shifts are 3 to 5 hours long
- On-the-job training provided.
- Interview with Chef Instructor required.
