Men's Grounds Maintenance Graduate Assistant (GA)

Position Summary: If you thrive working outdoors, this 12-month staff GA position plays a key role in maintaining an appealing environment around the men's residence halls. Work varies between solo and alongside co-workers and is available immediately. Candidates must be enrolled in post-graduate studies at BJU.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Landscaping: watering
• Hardscaping: cleaning
• Cleaning and dusting reachable exterior building windows and doors
• Cleaning and waxing exterior fixtures
• Street and sidewalk cleaning
• Trash clean up
• General campus clean up
• Storm clean up (We are responsible to clear and open paths after a storm. This could mean working through the night.)
• Delegate and work alongside student workers
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to conduct physical labor
• Valid (US) drivers license
• Flexible daytime work schedule with the ability to work between the hours of 7am-6pm Monday through Friday

• Drive motorized vehicles
• Work around machines
• Work above floor level
• Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
• Exposed to marked changes in temperatures
• Work outdoors in varying weather
• Repetitive foot movement to operate foot controls (both feet)
• Repetitive hand movement (firm grasp, fine manipulation, grasp & pull) - both hands
