Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to directly lead the accounting manager team in the centralized accounting environment ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Lead the accounting managers in centralized accounting ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Oversee the communication and support with each dealership management team
- Assist Shared Services combined staff in developing efficient process and procedures
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and growing of accounting team
- Develop and institute comprehensive training plans for Accounting Managers
- Ensures accounting managers are knowledgeable on each manufacturer program and how they work
- Performs monthly balance sheet account review and analysis and performs monthly account schedule review
- Reviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside bank sources, bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payable
- Review and audit payroll calculations to pay plans ensuring consistent and accurate pay is processed quarterly
- Manage cash and report any cash needs such as loans or additional capital required to meet working capital guidelines with time for discussion
- Ensure corporate payments are completed monthly (dividends, etc.) and ensures intercompany balances are paid weekly
- Ensure issuance of accurate timely financial statements to all requiring entities
- Issue monthly expense comparisons of actual to prior year and forecast
- Develop templates for accruals, payroll calculations and other areas for efficiencies and consistencies
- Issue monthly recap reviews of each dealership summarizing major financial performance areas
- Provide monthly combined financial statement, compensation reporting and other reports to finalize monthly
- Provide financial analysis as needed and assists with annual forecast
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and reporting any issues or concerns
- Ensure compliance with all manufacturer policies, programs and bonus money opportunities
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Finalize and audit year-end tax packets, ensuring they are completed accurately and timely for auditors
- Standardize all templates used by accounting managers and staff accountant
- Standardize all pay templates used to calculate manger pay
- Standardize posting templates and due dates for all journal entries needed to close a month, majority of these should be posted by the 15th of each month
- Standardize all processes for month end close
- Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Accounting
