Position Overview: This position will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing packaging design solutions across all of Bob’s Red Mill product lines to enhance product quality, cost-effectiveness, and adhere to brand guidelines. This role will work closely with the design team, innovation, procurement, legal, regulatory, and other departments to ensure seamless implementation of packaging processes. Additionally, this position will utilize strong project management skills while working closely with agency partners and packaging vendors.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with the design team to ensure cohesive branding from concept to commercialization.
- Collaborate closely with the supply chain, regulatory and operations departments to ensure packaging standards are met.
- Manage end-to-end packaging design process, from design concept to testing and product line integration, in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Act as a technical expert on optimizing design and production for flexo packaging, providing guidance and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Establish strong relationships with packaging vendors, to work through graphics, color, and consistency for high-quality packaging design results.
- Lead multiple packaging projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain current packaging design standards and archives.
- Review and manage edits to packaging designs to ensure they are aligned with branding guidelines and regulatory compliance.
- Proactively seek cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and new packaging innovations to improve business performance in collaboration with procurement.
- Proof and approve production files to ensure no errors prior to print.
- Build and maintain internal packaging design processes.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Skilled in strategic planning and project management.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time.
- Extensive experience working with food packaging including flexo, digital, and corrugated.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing and subsequent regulations.
- Experience in using Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and proactively make decisions.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
- This position reports to the Creative Director.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 3 or more years of consumer-packaged goods experience, AND
- 3 or more years of flexo packaging experience, AND
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on packaging engineering preferred; OR
- Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
Physical Demands:
- This position requires the ability to sit for up to approximately 2 hours at a time.
Work Environment:
- The primary environment for this position is in an office setting.
- Remote work may be available as an option.
- Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
